ICONIC21’s Alina Mihaela Popa on Custom Delivery and Why Speed Beats Scale | Exclusive Interview with iGaming News Today

ICONIC21's Alina Mihaela Popa on Speed and Custom Delivery

Alina Mihaela Popa has spent years working closely with iGaming operators. In an exclusive interview with iGaming News Today, she set out how ICONIC21, a B2B provider focused on live casino and custom solutions, is positioning speed and customisation as the thing operators actually buy, and made one delivery claim worth pausing on.

18 live casino tables in under ten weeks

Asked for an example of adapting to a client need, Popa told iGaming News Today that ICONIC21 “launched 18 dedicated live casino tables in under ten weeks for a major operator”.

That covered several game types along with “full custom decorations, table felts, and studio setups”, she said, measured from signing the deal to going live. Not many providers can claim that, in her assessment, and she put it down to the company’s process, its team, and a business model built for that kind of delivery. She said fuller details are still to come.

Her explanation of why larger competitors struggle to match it is blunt: “Bigger providers can’t match that speed because their size slows them down.”

Why she says content alone no longer differentiates

Popa told iGaming News Today that “the market is crowded with similar offerings”, and that operators under real pressure to stand out cannot do it with products that look like everything else.

Her conclusion is that the providers who succeed will be the ones genuinely using operator feedback in what they build, because without it operators cannot differentiate, players lose interest, and everyone misses out.

It starts with listening, she said, though she drew a distinction there: “It all begins with listening. But really listening, not just collecting requirements.” At ICONIC21 she said that translates into dedicated studios, tailored games and flexible plans, so that when an operator spots a player’s needs the company can move before the opportunity passes.

What else Popa covers in the exclusive interview

  • What she thinks account managers should be doing beyond sending reports
  • How operator feedback feeds directly into product decisions and planning
  • What she has learned about what a casino manager is actually worried about on a Monday morning
  • How she balances long-term strategy against individual operator requests
  • What she says defines a successful partnership, and why she calls it a two-way street
